A visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM Friday, December 6th, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64116. Following services burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to St Patrick Catholic Church, Bishop Sullivan Center, or Great Plains SPCA.
Connie was born March 16, 1951, to James E. and Margaret Alice (Kessinger) Simmons in Kansas City, MO. She was a life-long area resident.
Connie graduated from Northeast High School in 1969. She attended Penn Valley Community College and graduated from Rockhurst University in 1973 with an Education Degree in Mathematics. From 1973-1975 she taught school at Lillis High School. In 1975 she went to work as a Research Analyst for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas City. On October 26, 1991, she married Steve Saale. In 2023 she retired from Blue Cross following 48 years of service.
Connie was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Sheryl Simmons Campen.
Connie loved cats, flower gardening, computers, the music of the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, photography, and researching family history. She has been described as a humble, friendly but quiet soul. Connie was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church since 1982.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Steve Saale; her mother, Margaret Alice Simmons of Kansas City; brother, Larry Simmons of Tampa, FL; niece, Denise Campen Smith of Wentzville, MO, and niece Sara Campen Tindell Brown of Independence, MO; 6 great nieces, numerous great-great nieces and a great-great nephew.
