Constance Jean Kauzlarich, passed away November 6, 2017. Funeral service 12pm Sat., November 11, 2017 with visitation beginning at 10am at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel, 11924 E. 47th St. KCMO 64133. Interment following in Swan Lake Cemetery.
Constance wrote her own obituary…growing up with 9 siblings and one bathroom may not have been much fun, but as adults we have had a marvelous time. Our family was given a special treasure in our brother, Gary, who had Downs Syndrome and was a special joy.
I was blessed with lots of family. I was preceded in death by my parents (Milton & Eleanor Rockhill); my brother, Gary Rockhill; my in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Victor A. Kauzlarich and Christopher Kauzlarich. I leave behind my husband of over 49 years, Victor; my sisters, Gail VanderZwaag of Spirit Lake, IA, Jane Larimore of St. Louis Park, MN and Lori Rockhill-Gray (W.N.) of Higginsville, MO. I also leave behind my brothers, Owen Rockhill (Paula) of Lexington, MN, my twin brother, Ronald Rockhill (Cindy) of Sun City, AZ, Milton Rockhill, JR. of Independence, MO, and twin brothers, Rex Rockhill (Pam) of Stafford, VA and Randall Rockhill of Larchwood, IA as well as my in-laws, Francile Kauzlarich, Michael Kauzlarich (Connie Jo) and Kathryn Lawson (Jim) and many nieces, nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
I grew up in a small town in Iowa and graduated from high school in 1965. I graduated from college (CMSU) with a BA in Criminal Justice. My college roommate has made me famous in Flower Brand, GA by telling everyone the story of me lighting my underwear on fire in the dorm room!
I married my teddy bear, Victor in August 1968. I retired from Connecticut General/CIGNA in 1993. Vic and I bought some acreage to play with horses and I went to work for Feldman’s Farm and Home; retiring from there in 2013. My friends, co-workers and family have shared their children, horses, special birthday plans, some very good wine, lots of wonderful conversation and mostly laughter and love. I have been able to say thank you, hug them and say I love you to them all. My last words to each of you are “Celebrate my life. Enjoy the music and feel free to dance in the aisles. Mostly, remember me with a smile.”
