Clyde O. Johnson, 90, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at home. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 21st, 3:00 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Graveside Service will be Friday, June 22nd, 1:00 p.m., at Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, KS.
Clyde was born in Manchester, OK, and graduated from Manchester High School and from Northwest Oklahoma State University. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After military service, he worked for Exxon Mobil Corporation for over forty years. During his career, he worked in New York City, Miami, Kingston, Jamaica and in Alaska on the Trans Alaska Pipeline Project. He retired to Rogers, Arkansas where he was active in several civic organizations.
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Barbara Wolf Johnson. He is survived by his sons, Gary Johnson and Randy Johnson and his wife, Fran Johnson. He is also survived by his grandsons, Paul Johnson and his wife, Ann Johnson and Tyler Johnson and his wife, Leslie Johnson; and two great-granddaughters, Adelaine Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson.
