Cleo, was born on February 14, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Lee Richardson and Lily Mae Jackson Richardson. She was raised by her brothers as a young child and in her teen years she attended high school and then worked at the Railroad during World War II, due to shortage of men serving overseas, then worked in various office positions.
She married, Leo Shout on March 13, 1950. They had 3 children. Mark Shout, Kirk Shout and Denise Shout. In 1964, Cleo worked for Safeway Grocers in the bakery department in Prairie Village, Kansas. She retired in 1986. She and Leo enjoyed dancing and hosted many gatherings of friends and family with her wonderful food and baked goods.
Cleo believed her greatest achievement was raising her children, helping her grandchildren and living long enough to see her great-grandchildren be born and grow. We believe her legacy is her unconditional love and sacrifice for others. Her lifetime quote “Bless your Heart”.
Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Shout; Son, Kirk Allen Shout, all eight of her siblings. Bob, John, Dave, Joe, and Glen. Geneva, LaTasa and Florence.
She is survived by her son, Mark Shout, daughter Denise Shout-Hooper, grandchildren: Staci Mathes, January Pointer; Jaclyn Adams and Justin Shout and her great-grandchildren: Logan Mathes, Davin Mathes, Christian Mathes. Hannah Pointer, and Emma Pointer. Ava Shout. Hayden Adams, Cole Adams, and Wyatt Adams.
She was adored and was a treasure to our lives. She will be missed and our love will continue through her.
A Drive-thru Visitation will take place at 11:00am followed by a Graveside Funeral Service at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 12 at Mt. Moriah Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. For the Drive-thru visitation, use the Portico on the south side of the building.
