Chris was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 15, 1960. He was a graduate of Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. He received his associate’s degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College and his bachelor’s degree in criminology from The University of Kansas in Lawrence. Chris then took a position at Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, Kansas where he was employed for the last 19 years.
Chris was a very quiet large man who many called the gentle giant. He was a lifelong #1 Kansas City Chiefs fan who enjoyed season tickets for years and never missed a game. His greatest blessing and joy in life was getting to see the Kansas City Chiefs become Super Bowl Champions.
He loved watching shows at Worlds of Fun, especially when his talented cousins were performing there. Chris had great faith and belief in God and attended Judson Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas where he was a member.
Preceding Chris in death; father, James E. Deason; brother, Craig Deason; and his grandparents from both his mother and fathers side.
Survivors include; mother, Charlene Barber; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; half-sister, Stephanie Deason of Nashville, TN; nephews and nieces, James, Aaron and Amber Deason all Kansas City, Kansas.
