Charlie Hillix McCord

Charles “Charlie” Hillix McCord, 71 of Kansas City, MO, died on January 6, 2023 at home after a years long battle with cancer. He was born on August 27, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Charles F. and Dorothy McCord. He attended the Pembroke Hill School and was a graduate of the class of 1970. He earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Kansas where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was also an active member at his church, St. Andrews Episcopal. Charlie was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Charlie is survived by his son, Charles King McCord, of San Francisco, CA; his daughter, Mary McCord Barsotti and her husband, Julian Barsotti, of Dallas, TX; his three grandchildren, Emilia Barsotti, Leonardo Barsotti, and Francesca Barsotti; his sister, Ginger Owen, and her husband, Richard Owen, and his sister, Kathy Jones, as well as his nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall KCMO, on January 12, 2023 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to The Pembroke Hill School or St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
