Tom was born April 2nd, 1947, in Independence, MO to Rudolph “Rudy” Pouche and Violet (Buckingham) Pouche. After graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1965, Tom proudly served in the National Guard (110th Engineers MO- Specialist 4) from 1966 -1972. He retired as a self-employed business owner of Mid-America Erectors Co. after 38 years, and then began working for the Blue Springs School District transportation department until 2022.
Tom was a loyal friend, avid golfer, okay fisherman and talented musician. He loved spending time with his fellow Elks Lodge members and watching his grandchildren’s baseball games, swim meets, and musical plays - almost as much as he enjoyed slipping bites of food to his granddogs! Tom’s laugh was loud and contagious and his smile lit up every room.
He is survived by his life partner of more than 30 years, Beverly Bray; his daughters Alyson (Pouche) Salva and Lauren Pouche; sons-in-law John Salva and Mark Shepherd, daughter-in-law Marcia Bray Shepherd; his grandchildren, Bennett, Avery, Jude, Mary and Katie; brothers and sisters, Fred & Martha Pouche, Edward and Nancy McBrayer-Pouche, JoAnne Shank, and Nancy Pouche as well as many nieces and nephews.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.McGilleySheil.com for the Pouche family.
