Charles was born on April 25, 1928 to Noah and Laura Keele in East Lynne, MO. Known as “Tunney” growing up, he started off life a natural leader, elected class president his sophomore, junior and senior years of highschool. Graduating from Appleton City Highschool in 1946.
At the end of World War II in July of 1946 he enlisted into the US Army Air Corp. In July 1947 he was promoted to Sergeant. He received his discharge for honorable service on December 31, 1948.
He married his first wife Patty Cleveland in March of 1952, and had three children, Teri, Barry and Holly; divorcing in 1960. He married Anita on February 6, 1973 and became stepdad to Ramona, Jean, Sheila, and Tina. He spent his working career as a building contractor in his business called “Keele Homes” that built houses and commercial buildings.
Charles enjoyed his poker buddies meeting every week for 60 years. He was a Shriner and enjoyed being president of the masonic lodge in Grandview. He enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota and Canada. He also took numerous trips to Germany and Europe with his wife Anita. He loved to cook and host fish fry’s. He was known for cooking fried chicken dinners. He loved each Chiefs game he went to and enjoyed tailgating. He was so happy the Chiefs won the Superbowl, but was told to stop watching when it raised his blood pressure up to high. If only the Chiefs could hear his coaching tips.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Louis (Casey); and sisters, Helen Davis, and Uva Davis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anita; his children, Teri Keele, Barry Keele (Roberta), Holly Goble (Stan), Ramona Clark (John), Jean Sebelien (Jay), Sheila Scott (Michael), Tina Morrison (Joel); he was known as Opa to, Amanda, Jennifer, Brian, Barry Jr., Jasen, Alec, Abigail, and Elliot; and his great-grandchildren, Jillian, Wyatt, Audrey, Lylah, Harper and a baby on the way.

A graveside service for Charles will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
