Charles “Charlie” Lyle Annis, 75, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. A Memorial Service will be conducted in Charlie’s honor on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM, with Visitation starting at 10:00 AM, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64119. Inurnment will follow services in Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, Missouri.
Charlie, or "Chuck" to his friends, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 12, 1944 to parents Lyle and Juanita Annis. He attended Northeast High School and was a member of the 1962 graduating class. Throughout his working years, Chuck had a wide skill set and wore many hats. He worked for Firestone tires, Platte County Police Department, and most recently, was a Bus Driver. However, his real passion was being a resident umpire for baseball games. Chuck loved sports and liked to argue so being an umpire came naturally to him.
Chuck leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Marilyn Annis; nephews, Richard Darnell, Larry (Barbara) Darnell and Bill (Stacey) Getz Jr; and nieces, Debra Hopkins, Jennifer (Zack) Snyder, Jodi (Andy) Hanson, Linda (Stephen - Deceased) West; and Kristen Whitford and many great-nieces and great-nephews to cherish his memory.
