Carol Ann Schemmer

Carol was born on May 6, 1945 in Higginsville, MO, the daughter of Ralph F. Bush and Elvera J. Meyer Busch. She received her B.S. in Education from Central Missouri State University and took course work for her Master’s Degree at the University of Iowa. She married Thomas J. Loughrey on August 2, 1969 and her deceased husband, Norman A. Schemmer on August 24, 2005. Carol taught physical education and health to pre-school through university students in Missouri, Iowa, and Indiana. After retiring from teaching, she served the senior population as an exercise therapist, activities director, and restorative assistant. Carol was an active member of various Lutheran Church Missouri Synod churches and performed volunteer community services.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her nephew, Paul and her husband, Norman. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Loughrey of New York City; her sister Janet Meyer (William) of Higginsville; her nephew, Jonathan Meyer (Gwendolyn) and their daughter Mariah of Grain Valley; her nephew Aaron Meyer (Patricia) and their son Adam of Mount Joy, PA; her step-daughter Marla Dierking (Kevin) and their sons, Ed and Chris of Scarsdale, NY, her step-daughter Krista Dunn (Michael) and their children, Dylan and Ashley of Grain Valley; her step-daughter Kimberly Randel (Samuel) and their children, Paige and Luke of Kansas City.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held 1:00 pm on July 7, 2018 at Timothy Lutheran Church, Blue Springs, MO with Memorial Service following at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Timothy Lutheran Ministries.
