Carol Jean (Dessent) Gentry, 78, passed away July 1, 2015. Visitation held from 6-8:30pm on Tues., July 7, 2015 at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel with rosary recited at 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Wed. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (3736 Lee’s Summit Rd., Indep.) with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Carol was born January 22, 1937 in Northeast KCMO to Paul & Josephine Dessent. She attended Holy Cross Grade School & graduated from Glennon High School. Carol was a LPN at the V.A. Medical Center until her retirement. She was a Navy wife, a member of St. Mark’s Parish & an avid reader. Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Harold in 1997; a son, Patrick in 1979; her parents & a brother, Robert Dessent. She is survived by her children, Phillip Gentry of San Antonio, TX, Matthew Gentry (Tonya) of Indep., MO & Lynne Drummond of Blue Springs, MO and her 5 grandchildren, Blaise Gentry, Alina Drummond, Amar Drummond, Rebecca Gentry & Daniel Gentry.
