Carmen joined her husband on August 15th. Born in 1921 in Ottawa, Kansas, Carmen loved and was adored by her 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her face would light up with a big smile whenever she saw them. She was predeceased by her very loving husband of 60 years, Joseph Hernandez, Sr.; her sisters, Mary, Betty Virginia; and brother, Phillip. She is survived by her sons, Joe Jr., Tommy, Don, Johnny; daughter, Jeanette; sisters, Pauline, Juanita, Ethel, Carolyn, Angie, Josephine and Claire; her loving grandchildren, Diana, Natalie, Michelle, Thomas and Robert; adoring great-grandchildren, Brad Jr., Branden, Bayliegh, Briele, Selena and Tomas, Taylor, Jakob, Jack and Alexis.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. (Rosary at 7 p.m.) on Wed, Aug. 19 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood, KCMO. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thurs at the funeral home, burial 12:30 p.m. in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
