Carl E. Watterson

Carl E. Watterson, fortified by the Sacraments of Holy Mother church, passed away Nov. 12, 2018. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday, November 14, 2018 at McGilley State Line Chapel with Rosary Recitation at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Friday, Nov. 15, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Kansas City, MO. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Carl was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from K-State with a physics degree and received his master’s degree from UMKC. Carl worked at Honeywell as a senior engineer for 40 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, the DX Club of Kansas City and the Raytown Ham Radio Club.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers in law; two sisters in law and a niece in law. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley Watterson; a brother, Donald (Fran) Watterson; two sisters, Wanda (Bernie) Stegmaier, Candace Wiedenmann; 11 nephews; 18 nieces; a brother in law, Melvin (Diane) Morris and a sister in law, Patricia Garthwait.
