Carl E. Watterson

July 9, 2014. He was born the son of Thomas Watterson and Edna Mae (Moore) Watterson on September 1, 1922, in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Ellen Watterson, who passed away September 4, 2012. He is survived by four children, Don Watterson (Fran); Carl Watterson (Shirley); Wanda Stegmaier (Bernie); and Candy Wiedenmann Lyles (Tony Albertson); eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Carl served in the US Army for 4 years in the South Pacific Theater during WWII. After being discharged from the US Army, Carl spent his years as a Carpenter until his retirement. His hobbies included fishing, reading, and caring for others.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12th, at Christ the King Church, 8500 Wornall, Kansas City, MO from 9:30-10:30a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. with burial following in Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations may be made to Catholic Charities.
