Carl B. Schmidt

Carl Bernard Schmidt, 88, Kansas City, passed away March 8, 2014 at NorthCare Hospice House. The Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 11th at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th St, burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Monday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to NorthCare Hospice.

Carl was born July 27, 1925 in Kansas City. He grew up in Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as an altar server. Carl played baseball with the American Legion and Ban Johnson League. He retired following 40 years of employment with the Sealright Company of the Fairfax District. Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Gladys in September of 2008; his parents; and 3 sisters, Mary, Dorothy, and Anna Margaret.

Survivors include 2 sons, Carl Brian (Bonnie) Schmidt and Bernard Craig (Cindy) Schmidt; 4 grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Zachary and Holly; and his beloved pet, Skeeter.
