Brian Addison Boyd, 21, Leawood, Kansas, died May 17, 2013 in a car accident in Lawrence, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Christ Community Church, 14200 Kenneth Road, Leawood, Kansas 66224. Private interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Brian was full of life, kind, and compassionate. A naturally talented musician, he could play any instrument handed to him. His love of music grew at Blue Valley North where he graduated in 2010, playing in the jazz band and many other music groups, as well as varsity tennis. Brian was attending the KU School of Music where he played upright bass in the top jazz ensemble. Brian’s adventurous and fun spirit provided content for countless stories. He was a loyal brother and friend with a soft heart and a love for Jesus. Children were drawn to him. Brian was most joyful while playing with the kids in Haiti when he and his brother served at an orphanage for earthquake victims in 2010. He was preceded in death by his uncle Tom Boyd and cousin Patrick Boyd. Brian is survived by his parents, Chris and Nina, brothers Sam, Taylor and Andrew, sister Allie, and sister-in-law Suzanne, grandparents Jack and Rosemary Boyd and Don and Betty Simpson, many aunts, uncles and cousins that he deeply loved.
