Bill was a very family oriented man. He loved his children and his wife Margaret. He was the family patriarch. He always made sure all the family Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews all stayed in touch by organizing family reunions or any function that would bring us all together. Bill was a proud Marine he always said once a Marine always a Marine.
Bill retired from South Western Bell after 40 years of service. He loved fixing things, building things and painting beautiful pictures in his workshop. Bill touched so many lives in so many ways. He had so many wonderful friends and will be missed by all.
He was predeceased by Margaret his wife of 67 years, daughter Toni Schuster and sisters Wavalea Howell and Sandra Gramling. He is survived by his son Daniel Simler of Apex, NC, daughter Cathy Simler (Jim) of Prairie Village, KS, grandchildren Megan Simler, Emily Cox , Parker Cox, brother Sam Simler (Diana) and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home on 2/25/2023 at 11:00 a.m.
