Our Lovely Mother, Mrs. Billie Jo Brown-Monson, was born on Sunday, January 12, 1930 to Mandy Green-Kennedy Washington and Willie King in Childress. Mom was raised by her Mother and Stepfather, Grady Dorsey. Mom departed for Heaven on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2022.

Mrs. Brown-Monson is survived by her brothers, Rev. Nathaniel Dorsey of Dallas and Rev. Isiac Henry Washington of Midland; her sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Tucker of Childress; sons, Joe Wayne Monson, Billy Ray Monson, Lloyd Cyburnis Brown, Harold Edward Brown and David Bernard Brown; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of relatives, friends and extended families including Barbara and Loletha Clark of Lawrence, Ks and Rueben Wesley, also of Lawrence, KS.

Mrs. Brown-Monson was preceded in death by her daughters, Rose Mary King of Ft. Worth, Tx on February 19, 2020, and Rev. Eddie Jean Adams of Paris, Tx on September 26, 2021.

Though Mother lived in several locations she always considered Leavenworth to be her home.
