Bertha E. Thatcher, 94, Kansas City, Missouri passed away March 21, 2017 in her home. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00am followed by funeral service at 10:00am Saturday, April 1, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Bertha Eletha Lewis was born April 15, 1922. She was a beautician for over 60 years and retired from Ford Motor Co. She was active in many community organizations until her health failed. She loved to bowl.
Mrs. Thatcher was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by Frank and Bertha Duncan who raised her, her husband William E. Thatcher, Jr., son Eugene F. Thatcher Sr. and grandson Eugene F. Thatcher II. She is survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family and a host of friends.
