Brian received a Distinguished Service Certificate based on his service during the May 1957 Tornado in Missouri. Brian was a long-term employee of Kansas City Power & Light. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 1464. After an early retirement, he and his bride, Mary Jo, traveled the world and enjoyed time with their family and friends.

Brian was always working on some project for Mary Jo and their family. He had a garage and basement full of tools and electronic equipment. He loved to sing karaoke.
