Barbara Golubski was a "people" person. She was known as a woman who could make anyone feel welcome. From her light-hearted jokes and stories of inspiration, she had a way of capturing your heart. She cared deeply about others and always put her family and friends' needs before hers.
Born in Kansas City, Barbara has had careers throughout her lifetime. The ones she valued the most were the YMCA and a school librarian. They both centered around her great love for children. She enjoyed bringing love and laughter to those around her.
Love and laughter were two values that she found when Barbara met Bill Golubski. After meeting a striking young man on a street corner, a story she never failed to tell her granddaughters, she fell in love. Not just any love, but true love. During their marriage, they had two children, Ronald and Cheryl, who were able to give her five granddaughters: Megan Golubski, Michele Golubski, Melinda Golubski, Amanda Pallesen, and Nicole Pallesen. After 65 years of marriage, two children, and five granddaughters, Barbara was able to live out a life she always dreamed of, a family filled with love and laughter.
Barbara was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. After the passing of her husband, she moved to St. Louis. She shared two years of wonderful memories with her family. Everyone at the Landing of O’Fallon knew of her granddaughters and how much joy they brought to her. Even when visiting, she would always tell her girls how proud they made her. With visits from her family, grand-dog Tucker, and home-baked cookies her son-in-law made, Barbara continued to live a happy life surrounded by love and laughter.
During her life, she loved music and art which she shared with her family. She always said they make our lives richer. Her granddaughters grew up with many hand-painted treasures she would work on. Every piece was made with love and care. She was a fantastic artist and left behind many beautiful paintings for her family to treasure. Her love for music, especially Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, will also never be forgotten. You could always find her tapping her toes to the beat of the music. These memories will live on forever.
Even though she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, Barbara has been reunited with her beloved husband Bill. She is now dancing in heaven with her first and only love. As she would end every conversation with her family, see you later alligator. We know one day we will be reunited in heaven.
