Arthur “Arturo” G. Rodriguez, Sr., 86, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on October 29, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family, including his wife of 61 years, Margaret, with is famous words, “ Ask my wife”. He was born on February 6, 1937 in Emporia, Kansas to Margarita Gomez Tamayo and Macario Cedillo Rivas.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; son, Arthur “Turo” Rodriguez, Jr; daughter, Alicia V. Rodriguez Navarro; brother, Gilberto Cedillo; sisters, Gloria Cedillo, Catalina Lopez, and Consuelo Espinoza. He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Margie” Rodriguez; daughter, Margaret "Susan" Lopez (Martin); son, John Paul Rodriguez (Reyna); 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Arthur was a waiter at the Kansas City Club for several years, later worked as a machine operator at Pratt and Lambert Paint for 25 years, and also worked at Guadalupe Center. He graduated from the KC Museum History and Science in taxidermy. A devoted Catholic, Arthur possessed a strong work ethic and a sense of family unity. He had a passion for animals and art, particularly painting. He loved hunting and fishing with his friend, Carlos Campos. Arthur loved creating things, reading the newspaper every day, and taking his family on vacations every year. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Kansas City Hospice, Ramona Arroyo, Reyna, Emily, Mari, and other family members who attended to his needs. A thank you especially to Fr. Visitation will be held 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Cesar Chavez, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.
