He began practicing accounting in 1932, and became a CPA in 1934. He was the Managing Partner of Arthur Young & Co.’s Kansas City office. His professional affiliations included Missouri and Kansas CPA Societies, serving as President of the Missouri society. He was also a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, serving four years on the governing council of the group. He served 25 years as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of Children’s Mercy Hospital and 18 years as a Director of Millbank Manufacturing Co. He and his wife believed deeply in the value of education, and they selflessly helped members of their close and extended family pursue their educations.
