Arnold "Gene" E. Marriott

Arnold (Gene) Marriott, 92, Kansas City North, passed away September 28, 2017 at NorthCare Hospice House. Funeral services are 11:00 AM Saturday, October 7th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Saturday at the Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Disabled American Veterans.

Arnold was born in Versailles, MO. He lived in St. Joseph, MO for a number of years before moving to Kansas City. Arnold was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Marian Black on Dec 26, 1945. Arnold retired after more than 30 years of employment at the Ford Assembly Plant, Claycomo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian, in 2005; and 5 siblings. Arnold was a huge Kansas City Royals fan; feel free to wear the team’s attire to all services.

Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Whitesell and husband, Milton; granddaughter, Stacey Shackelford and husband, Paul; and grandson, Damon Whitesell and wife, Rachel; brother, T.L. Marriott and wife, Evelyn; 3 step great grandchildren, Christina, Ryan, and Anne; many nieces, nephews, neighbors and close friends.
