Annette was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa in 1936. She graduated from Iowa State University in 1962. She moved to Kansas City in 1967 and lived in Overland Park and Leawood for 47 years.
Throughout her life she enjoyed ice skating, snow skiing, sailing, fishing, swimming, planting flowers, cooking, playing cards and volunteering. She was an avid reader and loved historical fiction.
She was a member of Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village and later attended First Methodist Church in Broken Arrow.
She was a loving wife and mother whose greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three children, Michelle Pruitt and her husband David of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Bruce Johnson and his wife Aimee of Peculiar, Missouri and Dana Ball and her husband Tom of Austin, Texas; her stepdaughters, Christi Jordan and husband Richard of Overland Park, Kansas and Suzanne Arthur and her husband Tom of Manhattan, Kansas; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Annette was preceded in death by her husband Louis F. Wood in 2009 and her stepson Chipper Wood in 1992.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery at 10507 Holmes Road in Kansas City, Missouri on June 27 at 10:00 A.M.
