

Born in Stanberry, MO, on February 23, 1938, to proud parents, Emory and Daisy (Rice) Hathaway, Annette enjoyed her childhood on the family farm and within her local church. She later transferred to the First United Methodist Church of Raytown, MO, where she served as a Chairman of the Staff Pastor/Parish Committee, Chair of the Board and member of the United Methodist Women.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Stanley and Eldon Hathaway.
Annette is loved and survived by her two daughters, Debra Murphy and Dana Burton, both of Independence, MO, as well as her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Rebecca Horstmann, husband Christopher and their daughter Abigail Annette; Stephanie Burton and fiancé Joseph Buckingham; Jennifer Kersting and husband Braxton; Paree Murphy; Patrick Murphy and his son Zane. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Sue Jones and husband Phil of Kansas City, MO, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Annette retired from Marion Laboratories and working as an in-home caregiver to fulfill a lifelong dream of opening UzTaBz Antiques and Collectibles on the historic Independence Square, in Independence, MO.
Annette loved to spend time with her family, watch birds, garden, play cards and dominos, work puzzles, have an occasional margarita and truly enjoyed Mr. Goodcents sandwiches.
Private services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the American Kidney Fund, Leukemia Research Foundation and the City Union Mission.
