She was born on June 29, 1937 in Port Gibson, Mississippi to the union of Spencer Hedrick and Lucretia Wyatt. During her time in Port Gibson, she attended Claiborne County Training School. Anna relocated to Kansas City, Missouri and joined West Paseo Christian Church, which later became Swope Parkway United Christian Church. She loved her church and faithfully served on the Usher Board for over 50 years, was a Deaconess and continued as the Usher Board Treasurer until her health began to fail.
After 26 years of service, Anna retired from Trinity Lutheran Hospital, where she worked as a Diet Clerk. Anna met and later married Leon Ross. With this union, she gained three loving step-children.
She was preceded in death by both parents, husband Leon Ross, brothers Clarence King, Joseph King, Albert King, George Weathers, sister Hester Rogers and grandson Michael Mason.
Anna leaves to cherish her memory; children, Beverly Collins-Barton (Leslie), Kansas City, MO, Diane Williams, Kansas City, MO, Anthony Sanders (Deborah), Kansas City, MO; 9 step-children, Kansas City, MO; brother Vernon Weathers, Albany, GA; sister Elizabeth Murray, Lee's Summit, MO; grandchildren Ashley Davis (Jeffrey), Daniel Sanders; great-grandchildren Michael Hughes, Jeffrey Davis, Jr. Andre Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
