She was born on December 2, 1933, in North Kansas City, Missouri, but her family moved to Petal, Mississippi when she was young. Ann graduated from high school in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 1951. She later moved back to Kansas City where she raised her family and worked for the federal government for 32 years before retiring from the Department of Agriculture.
Ann had a strong passion for reading, which she passed down to all of her daughters. She also enjoyed working in her gardens, where she once had over 40 rose bushes. Ann loved all of her pets, particularly Emi, her miniature poodle who stayed by her side until the very end. Her love for the Kansas City Chiefs was unwavering, and she never missed watching a game on TV. For her 90th birthday, her family took her to one final game to celebrate her lifelong devotion to the team.
She is preceded in death by her parents Herman David Sr. and Myrtie Mae (Toalson) Vogel, her daughter Rebecca Lynn Hartman, her brothers Herman David Vogel Jr., Robert Eugene Vogel, and Nathan Franklin Coose, and her sister Marguerite Elizabeth Spray.
She is survived by her daughters Lina Marie Wilson and Mona Lea Stewart, along with her grandchildren Steven Wayne Hartman, Heather Mae Hartman, Alexandra Ann Wilson, and Jonathan Michael Wilson. In addition, she is survived by several great-grandchildren, including Kayla Abigail Hartman, Theseus Lazarus Caine Hartman, Aleister Julian Hartman, and Nathaniel Lauren Rezabek-Laird, She also leaves behind her brother Clarence C. and his wife Imogene Vogel and her sister-in-law Agnes Vogel as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation for Ann will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 1:30 pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 pm.
