She was born Sept. 13, 1915, in New Mexico, a daughter of Joseph and Maria (Perez) Valdivia. Amada was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was tough and stood as an example of resilience and love. She always wanted to take care of her family, cooking and cleaning for everyone, and giving life advice. Amada always said what she was thinking, never held back and showed us all what it means to be true to yourself.
She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Gilbert Guerra, Sr., her son Gilbert Guerra, Jr., her brothers Albert Valdivia and Salvador Valdivia and sister Jennie Martinez (Valdivia.) She is survived by her daughters: Esther Wozny and husband Richard Wozny of Omaha, Neb., Irene Valenzuela and husband Alfonso Valenzuela of Kansas City, Mo., Gloria Delgado of Omaha, Neb., Grace Collins of Kansas City, Mo., Patricia Zaner and Jim Zaner of Kansas City, Mo., Rachael Heisey and Raymond Heisey, Jr., of Overland Park, Kan., Rebecca Picard and Craig Picard of Lee’s Summit and 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, KCMO Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 6-8 pm, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church 9:30 am Thursday, June 4, 2015. Interment will be in Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery.
