Allen F. Dunn

Allen F. Dunn, 89, Kansas City, MO, passed away May 12, 2017 at home. Visitation is from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by Holy Mass at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, May 16th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland Ave, Kansas City, MO 64117; burial in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

Allen was born December 2, 1927 in Grand Island, NE. He graduated from G.I. Senior High in 1946 and proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He received his education from the University of Nebraska and received a B.S. from S.M.U., Dallas, TX. Allen retired from ERC after 35 years as Assistant Vice-President. Following retirement, he took great joy in working 18 years from the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Allen married his soul-mate, Margie Safarik in 1955. They celebrated 62 years of marriage. To this union were born three children: Brad, Abra and Doyle.

Allen is survived by his wife, Margie; children, Brad (Kim) Dunn, Abra (Vince) Masucci and Doyle (Zoe Beth) Dunn. He enjoyed 8 grandchildren: Alex and Kyle Dunn; Ava, Isabella, Grace (Blouin), Victoria Masucci; Stewart and Nathan Dunn; and brother, Larry (Ann) Willis.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents: Clara and Paul Willis; brother, Lonnie Willis; and a grandson. He will be greatly missed because he was loved by his family and many, many Royal’s fans and friends.
