Adolph “Al” Gramlich, 91, Liberty, passed away peacefully at home on October 28, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday Nov. 1 at 11:00 AM at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland Ave, Kansas City. A visitation is scheduled from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday Oct 31 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City.
Al was born Dec 1, 1922 to Edward and Frances Gramlich in Pilot Grove, MO. After service in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he moved to Kansas City in 1948 to work at the BOP Assembly Plant in Fairfax. In 1951, he married the former Irene Krudwig. The two were married for 24 years until Irene passed in 1975. In 1978, he married Mary Collier, who passed in 1999.
Al was pre-deceased by his parents and two wives, brother, Roy and sister, Mildred. He is survived by sons Chris (Kathy Cole) Gramlich and Ed (Barbara) Gramlich; two grandchildren, Christina Davis and Mark Gramlich; step-son John Collier, step-daughter Pat (Ed) Roith, six step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Arr. McGilley Antioch Chapel.
