Mr. Turpin was a delightful gentleman   and we always enjoyed our visits as he was so positive.  We enjoyed hearing his stories of bowling and watching the Royals.  He agreed to let my son( who is now a history teacher but was in high school at the time ) 
interview him about his war experiences.  
He was always thoughtful and jovial. We will miss him and keep the memories with us.
