Bill H. Scott, 78 of Basehor, KS "went home to be with the Lord" Saturday, May 27, 2017 after a long battle with Lung Disease. Bill was born April 13, 1938 in Wyandotte County, KS and lived in the area his entire life. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. From 1963-1968 he resided in Independence, MO where he co-founded The Boys Club of America, Independence chapter and was given an award by former President Harry Truman. Later he returned to Kansas where he served as the Director of Medical Lodge South in Kansas City, KS and the Director of The Council on Aging in Leavenworth, KS. At around the age of 40, he received his Bachelor of Nursing Degree and worked in area hospitals until his retirement. He and his wife, Carlene, were members of Open Door Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS for 21 years and recently joined First Baptist Church of Basehor, KS
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carlene (Evans) Scott of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Jon Mueller, of Independence, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Barbara Scott of Basehor, KS; daughter, Erin Scott of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Ian Mueller, Brianne Mueller Reynolds and husband Jayson, Patrick, Meghan, and Eden Scott; great-granddaughter, Aria Reynolds; sister, Paula Campbell of Las Vegas, NV; mother-in-law Joyce Evans; sister-in-law and husband, Raylene and Jim Dodd of Basehor, KS; three nieces, one nephew and six great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Max & Pauline Scott of Merriam, KS; twin brother and sister, Robert & Barbara Scott also of Merriam, KS; and father-in-law, J.R. Evans of Basehor, KS.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 4th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, with visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
