William G. Davis, 80, of Shawnee, passed away April 5, 2014 at home. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12th at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
William is survived by his wife, Sandy, of 57 years, and a daughter, Kelley Guthrie, who gave him 3 grandchildren, Melissa Hargrave, Gene Guthrie and Travis Guthrie, and 3 great-grandchildren, Cody, Cassie and Grace. He is also survived by a sister and bother-in-law, Merle & Virginia Ecord. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Elsie Davis and his son, Craig, in 1991.
Bill was born in KCK and lived there until moving to Shawnee in 1974. He served in the US Army and after 2 years, Bill was honorably discharged and he met the love of his life, Sandy. They were married on Valentine’s Day in 1957. Bill will be known for his friendly and kind nature and his love of animals, and will be missed by all who knew him.
