Vivian was born to Fred and Florence Schmidt in Chicago on June 14,1930. In the 1940's Vivian and her family moved to California. It was there that she met Donald Berry at a church social. They were married 3 months later on August 3, 1949.
Vivian worked at Bethany Hospital as a secretary, at Grinter House as a waitress and a sales lady at TG&Y, but her proudest moments were as stay-at-home mom while her boys, Bill and Bob were growing up. She was active in Cub Scouts and was a Den Mother. She attended Stony Point Christian Church and was a Deaconess, Choir Member, VBS worker and much, much more. She was a volunteer at St. Mary's Food Kitchen and was active with Cancer Action. Vivian was always eager to help anyone with anything that was asked of her.
Her survivors include her husband of 73 years, Don and her sons Bill (Vernelle) and Bob (Barbara) as well as 4 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren (one is predeceased). and 3 great-great grandchildren. Vivian has one surviving sister, Faye Allardyce.
Visitation will be at 1:00 on Tuesday May 16 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kansas. Serving as Pallbearers are Nathen Berry, Peter Berry, Chad Hodkins, Dan Golden, Mike Golden and Matt Golden.
