Steven Neal Hamilton, age 70, passed away on November 9, 2024, in Shawnee, Kansas. Born on February 26, 1954, Steven, affectionately known as Steve, dedicated over five decades to the petroleum service industry, a passion inherited from his father. His professional journey was marked by genuine relationships, turning customers into lifelong friends. A respected entrepreneur, he owned and operated Hamilton Service Company alongside his wife Sandra and their two sons. The company recently celebrated its 55th anniversary, a testament to their hard work and dedication.
Steve graduated from Washington High School in 1972. Steve's early years were marked by athletic achievements, playing college football at Missouri Southern and Emporia State University, where he met his beloved wife, Sandra. Post-college, Steve briefly played professionally for the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams before returning to Kansas City to start a family and take over the family business.
Away from work, Steve and Sandra relished the outdoors, frequenting Colorado and the Lake of the Ozarks. An avid sports fan, he and Sandra held season tickets for the Kansas City Chiefs for over 20 years, sharing his love for sports with his children and grandchildren. His playful rivalry with his sons, staunch 49ers fans, kept family gatherings lively and filled with spirited discussions about football. He enjoyed watching his grandkids succeed and always cherishing moments spent watching their sporting events.
Steve's life was enriched by his extensive circle of friends, many of whom started as customers. His ability to turn professional relationships into personal friendships spoke volumes about his character.
