Sandy was born March 26, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri to Albert and Betty Gilhaus. She graduated from Turner High School and married the love of her life, James E. Miller in 1964. Sandy worked as a dental assistant for several years and later as a department manager for Wal-Mart, before she retired in 2009. She loved bowling and often went with her mother and other friends; she enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Royals. Sandy also was very passionate about watching her granddaughters in their competitive softball career. She enjoyed crochet and made baby blankets for all of her grandchildren. Sandy was also a member of the Kansas Miniature Horse Club and raised miniature horses, which they walked in parades and shared at other events.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Betty Gilhaus; and her great-grandsons, Weston and Dalton.
Sandy is survived by her husband, James E. Miller of the home; her daughters, Kelle S. Busch (Gerald) of Gallatin, MO, and Sherre M. Abney (Dale) of Gardner, KS; her sister, Judy Pfeifer (Mike) of Phoenix, AZ; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
