Robert Eugene “Skip” Wynne, 76, of Spring Hill, Kansas passed away October 9, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Skip was born June 23, 1941 in KCK to Mayor C. and Harriett Wynne. He graduated from Washington High School and attended Pittsburg State University. Skip worked for 20 years as an accounting controller, before switching careers to over 18 years for the United States Post Office, retiring in 2013. He regularly attended Life Spring Church in Spring Hill. Skip loved spending time at his grandparents’ Concordia farm growing up and that led him to buying a farm in Piper. His beloved dog Widget showed up at the farm one day and never left his side. Skip was an avid sports fan, especially Jayhawks basketball, the Royals, and the Chiefs. He volunteered weekly at a food pantry and spent a lot of time working in his yard. Skip had a wonderful sense of humor and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Skip is survived by his son, Keith Wynne; his granddaughters, Colbie Elizabeth Wynne and Cassandra Marie Moffat; his beloved partner, Patricia Lea Freeman; and his siblings, Carolyn Sommerfeld (Dean), Lana Wiehe, Patrick Bailey, Michael Wynne, Mark Wynne, Debbie Kondpaske, and Penny Berrey; as well as other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be Fri., Oct. 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Inurnment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
