Rickey Deon Brown, 45, of Kansas City, Kansas was taken Home to our Lord too soon on October 13, 2021. Homegoing Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, October 23rd at Roswell Church of Christ, 2900 Roswell Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66104, with a visitation preceding the service from 9:00-11:00am at the church. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112.
Rickey was born July 18, 1976 in Kansas City, KS to Rickey Brown, Sr. and Kay (Deloney) Brown. He was baptized at a young age at Roswell Church of Christ. Rickey graduated from Sumner Academy, while there, he played tenor saxophone and enjoyed playing football and running track. He attended KU before graduating from DeVry University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications. Rickey worked in IT as a contractor for the government. He married Lisa Brown in May 2014.
Rickey was a wonderful cook and enjoyed grilling. He was very family oriented and loved technology and working on computers. Rickey had a very kind and generous heart, he was a friend to everyone and was always willing to help anyone he could. You could always expect great conversation when spending time with Rickey, and he had a sense of humor beyond compare. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Rickey is survived by his wife of seven years, Lisa Brown; his children, McKinney Harris, Rickey Brown, II, and Jackie Brown; his parents, Rickey and Kay Brown; his siblings, Rashad Bonner, and Courtney Stallworth (LaTarsha); his mother and father-in-law, Gerald and Sandra Fornelli; his brothers-in-law, Gerald Fornelli (Lisa), and Jim Fornelli; his Uncles Maurice Deloney & Wayman Miller of KCK; his Aunt Paralee Parris of KC, MO; his Aunt Angela Jordan of Long Beach, CA; his two favorite cousins Holly Upton and Margie Miller of Dallas, TX; his Grandmother Ernestine Bruce; his Aunts Sabrina Rivera and Darlene Renfrow of Baltimore, MD; his Great Aunt Tomeria Brown-Givan, Aunt Belinda Pace, Uncles Christopher Brown, Leonard Brown, Cedric Massengale of Birmingham, AL; his Uncle John Bruce of NC; his Uncle Sylvester Brown of KCK; his Aunt Carmen Lear of San Francisco, CA; his Uncle JoJo McToy of New York, NY; his adopted mother Brenda McCloyn and her sons Anthony Wilkins and TJ Wilkins; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Kay Brown.
