Richard Gordon “Dick” Rymer, age 91, passed away at 11:11 p.m. Wed., May 23rd at The Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. Funeral service will be 11:11 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northcare Hospice. Dick was born on Feb. 20, 1921 in Kansas City, KS, the son of Darby Hutchison Rymer and Roxie Madelene (Johnson) Rymer. He retired from Swift & Company after 34 years of service in 1973. Dick worked for the City of Kansas City, Kansas for 10 years, retiring in 1983. He was a 50 years member of the NCHA-FCRV Kansas Campers Club, The Wyandots Chapter. Dick loved country music and played with his band, the Senior Citizens Plus Two at Nursing Homes and Hi-rises for 20 years. He was a member of the Wyandotte Pickers and Fiddlers, now out of De Soto, KS. Dick was a WWII Veteran. He leaves his wife of 62 years: Melora (Forbes) Rymer; sons: Kent Gordon Rymer and wife Julie of Fairview, KS, Brett Mitchell Rymer and wife Debbie of KCK, Christopher Bryon Rymer of KCK and Lance Aaron Rymer and wife Patty of Basehor, KS; grandchildren: Jeremiah Rymer, Erica Turney, Elisha Herrell, Brett Rymer II, Jayce Rymer, Courtney Wood, Dustin McHenry, Marty Mootz III and Levi Mootz; great-grandchildren: Brooke Beery, Evelyn Rose Turney, Nora Grace Turney, Alexis Rymer, Trent Allen Rymer, Jessica Rymer, Michael Herrell, Calli Herrell, Cody Herrell, Gage Gordon Rymer, Hayden Wood, Conner Wood, Simon Hidaka-Mootz and many nieces and nephews.
