Richard Leonard Rangel, Sr., 81, was born on April 8, 1941, in Greeley, Colorado. After moving to Kansas City, Kansas, he met the love of his life, Sarah Rocha. At the age of 17 he and Sarah married December 1, 1958. Together, they had one daughter and four sons. His passion for sports led to coaching his sons and his extended sons in both football and baseball for several years. Family was everything to Richard. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and friend. He met no stranger as everyone in his presence was considered family. He retired from Thomas J. Lipton after 40 years of service.
Richard was preceded in death by his sons David D. Rangel and Clifton A. Rangel. Also, by his father, Frank Rangel; mother, Victoria Juarez; sister, Virginia Mills; sister, Anita Salazar; brother, Frank Rangel, Jr.; three step siblings Ralph, Raymond and Rosie Sanchez.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sarah Rangel; daughter, Victoria Romero (husband Ed); son Richard Rangel, Jr.; son, Andrew Rangel (wife Lisa); Daughter-in-law, Melissa (of beloved son Chris); sisters Delores (Lola) Lopez, Juanita Ramirez, and Phyllis Ortiz; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
