Richard was a loving and funny individual, known for his generosity. He graduated from Wyandotte High School where he enjoyed participating in musicals and played tennis. He later earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Central Missouri State University. He proudly served in the US Air Force.
After his military service, Richard had a successful career, retiring from the United States Department of Agriculture. He was also a College Teacher of Computer Science and Programming.
Richard was active in his church and choir, finding solace in his faith. In his free time, he enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, playing Sudoku, and spending time with his family.
Richard is survived by his wife, Patty, his daughter Lisa (Dennis) grandchildren Blake, Wesley and Maggie, and great-grandchildren Margo and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his daughter Maria, his parents William and Georgia Edwards, and his brothers and sisters.
Richard will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
