Patsy Sue “Boots” Higbee, 81, of Kansas City, Kansas, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 22, 2022. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Patsy was born in Red Rock, Arkansas to Howard and Maggie (Janes) Ewing on December 8, 1940. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Donald Higbee, Sr., parents, Howard and Maggie Ewing, sisters, Jean Farmer, Hildred LeMarr, and Sue Roberts, and her niece, Roxanne Holt. She is survived by her son, Don Higbee and step-daughter, Susie Higbee Olson. She is also survived by her sisters Doris Hoggard, Betty Davis, Bobbie Holt, Valarie Holt, Jessie Schaffer, her brothers Mac Ewing and RM Ewing, and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
In addition to caring for her family, Patsy worked many years for Cascades-Sonoco Packaging in Kansas City, Kansas, and later for Shor-Line Manufacturing. Every day she spent time talking to her sisters, brothers and family members on the phone to catch up on events and life. In her free time, Patsy enjoyed listening to music, gardening, working on puzzle books and cheering on her Kansas City Chiefs. Patsy spent Sunday mornings watching television services of the Family Worship Center and the Swaggart Ministries. Patsy will be remembered for her love of family, strong faith, and courage as she battled cancer and illness for many years.
