Patrick Lynn Long Sr., was born on January 10, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas to the parents of Dionysus and Julia Sublett Long. He peacefully went home on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at KU Medical Center.
Patrick accepted Christ at an early age and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas.
He met and married Shirley Newton on January 7, 1977. To this union they had three children.
He graduated from Sumner High School in 1975. He worked at QPI until he retired. Patrick devoted a lot of his time helping a special uncle Tecumseh Long Jr. until Patrick became ill.
Patrick was proceeded in death by his parents Dionysus and Julia Long.
He leaves behind two sisters, Cynthia (Willie) Simon and Patricia (Donald) Henderson; One daughter, Machereie Long; two sons Patrick Jr. (Starr) Long and Courtney (Karen) Long. Twelve grandchildren; one niece and three nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
He also leaves many uncles, aunts and lots of cousins and friends.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling. Arkansas and Milwaukee were his favorite places. He loved gardening and working on cars and trucks.
Patrick was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. We all shall cherish the fond memories that we shared with him. He will be missed.
