Nancy was 75 years old when she went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2018. She was a dynamic person whose talents were centered around education, music, and business recruiting. Nancy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business from Central Missouri State (CMSU) and Education with a Minor in Music. While at CMSU, she was also active with the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She taught high school classes in business education founding a new FBLA organization in the school.
Nancy was a multi-talented musician accompanying amateur and professional singing and instrumental groups, directing and singing in adult choirs, developing children choirs and performing in international plays. She taught 3rd grade classes overseas, directed the Hejaz choral society, and played drums to accompany the play “Oklahoma” in Jeddah Saudi Arabia.
Nancy was a successful talented recruiter in the Kansas City metropolitan area working for Kelly as a manager and then Personnel Connections as a recruiter and was known to many of our business leaders. She was the stand-in and sometimes permanent choir director at Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a lifelong Presbyterian which she faithfully attended and served as long as she was able. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Jessie Ball.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Calvin Day; her children, Karen Cubon, and Kevin Day; her grandchildren, Mikaela Cubon, Nathan Day, and Ryan Day; her sister, Betty Prouty (husband Mel); as well as her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:30am, Wed., June 13th at Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 8029 N Oak Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64118, with visitation time from 9:00-10:30am preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64105.
