Maurice Alton “Bud” Buckley, Jr., 74, passed away March 7, 2014. A visitation will be held Monday, March 10th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Bud was born to Maurice Alton Buckley, Sr. and Hattie Lucille (Hicks) Buckley on October 8, 1939. He spent his life in Kansas City, KS. He married Pat Anderson and was married for 53 years before his passing. Bud worked at Inland Cold Storage for 25 years. He volunteered his free time to the March of Dimes organization, was the Past President of Washington Booster Club and worked with the Fireman’s Canteen from 1973-1980.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Alton Buckley, Sr. & Hattie Lucille (Hicks) Buckley; brothers, Garrett Buckley, John Buckley, and Lester Buckley; sisters, Beverly Slagel and Mary Ann Campbell and grandson, Robert Andrew Charles Buckley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Pat (Anderson) Buckley; children, Maurice Alton Buckley III, Patrick Jay Buckley, Melissa Ann Buckley and Shawn Kelly Buckley; granddaughters, Kathleen Loss, Baylee Buckley, Megan McDonough, and Heather Franklin; grandsons, Kyle Buckley and PJ Buckley; great-granddaughters, Jadyn Rose Buckley and Aria Grace McDonough; brother, Steve Buckley and sisters, Diane Ramsay and Frances Marple.
