Mary Jane Ware, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at her home in Basehor, Kansas. Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2nd, at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to The American Heart Association.
Mary Jane was born October 30, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph N. and Margaret G. (Brown) Garza. She moved to the Kansas City Area at a very young age, and had lived here most of her life, graduating from Wyandotte High School. She loved being a Homemaker, and often spoke of how she had never retired from it. She was a Member and Past President of the Union Pacific Old Timers Ladies Auxiliary, and she loved traveling. She traveled all around the world, and to every state in the union except for North Dakota. She spent her recent winters in warmer climates, such as Venice, Florida, and she loved fishing at the family place on Table Rock Lake, where she earned bragging rights for the largest Bass caught by any member of her family.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Richard G. Ware of the home; 4 children, James R. “Jim” Ware & his wife Vicki of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Sharon K. Wetterberg & her husband Jim of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Kathleen L. Boul & her husband Rocco of North Kansas City, Missouri, and Kevin S. Ware & his wife Robin of Smithville, Missouri; 3 brothers, Joe Garza & his wife Rolene of Stanley, Kansas, Robert Garza & his wife Gloria of Madera, California, and Edward Garza & his wife Sue of The Villages, Florida; 2 sisters, Maria Campbell & her husband Smokey of Overland Park, Kansas, and Margaret Uzelac & her husband Chuck of Cassville, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Ware, Shaun Ware & his wife Ashley, Emily Ware, Joe Boul, Eric Herdman, Chad Ware, Sara Herdman, and Katie Boul; and 3 great grandchildren, Makayla Ware, Julie Ware, and Christian Ware.
