Mary Virginia Wagner was born on April 22, 1937 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was known her entire life as Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Wagner and was called to heaven to be with him on May 9, 2024. Virginia was 87 years old and lived a great life. Virginia is survived by her two children Steve and his wife Patti Wagner of Paris, Texas, along with Jeff and his wife Heather of Lee’s Summit, MO. Virginia is also survived by their 7 grandchildren, Kyle, Mary Beth, Matthew, Ashley, Tanner, Bethany, and Meagan, along with two great grandchildren Finn, and Everett.
In addition to being a mother and wife, Virginia worked outside of the home. She held many positions as an administrative assistant, Teachers Aid, and receptionist. She started her career at Welborne elementary school in Kansas City, Kansas and then moved to Paris, TX where she worked as a Teacher’s Aid at Crockett Middle School, and then for CJ Brown Realtors in Baton Rouge, LA as a receptionist when her husband Charles was transferred. During their lifetime together they enjoyed traveling. Virginia and Charles traveled the globe including living in Ulm, Germany shortly after they got married while Charles was in the military service. Virginia at a tender age of 18 traveled to New York City all by herself and boarded a ship to cross the Atlantic Ocean to Germany to join Charles. Later in life, they loved cruise ships, and went on over 30 cruises during their 65 years together. They had a beautiful home in Denham Springs, LA where they loved to entertain poolside. Our kids always called it Che’ Wagner hotel, as it was a slice of heaven. Virginia will be missed by many.
