Mary Lou Jennings died Monday, December 7th, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She was 75 years old. She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Mae Brady Beary, father, William Brian Beary, sister Jessie Mae, and brother Billy.
Mary Lou was known for a loving and quiet manner. Her smile was especially radiant with love when gathered with her friends and family. Her eyes lit-up and her smile was quick at the glimpse of a loved one. She enjoyed family gatherings and cooking.
Mary Lou was born on October 13, 1945 in Wilhoit, Missouri. She lived her childhood and early adulthood in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1964. She married Wayne Lee Jennings in 1965. Together they reared five boys, while living in Osawatomie and La Cygnes, Kansas. Mary Lou worked as a Psychiatric Aid and as a Certified Medicine Aid at Paola Medical Lodge and the Osawatomie State Hospital.
Mary Lou was a devoted wife to her husband, Wayne, for 55 years. They were long-time members of the Osawatomie Lions Club, including a term serving as co-Presidents. In their later years, the two moved to Lee’s Summit to be closer to children and grandchildren. They were members of the Lee’s Summit Church of Christ.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband Wayne, her sons Norman (Kim) of Lawrence, KS, William (Stacy) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Joseph (Jenny) of Pleasant Hill, MO, Abel of Lake Worth, FL, and Aaron of Caney, KS, 14 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
