Our beloved Margie was born on May 19, 1941 in Minden, Louisiana to the proud parents of Walter and Lillie May Jones. She was the third of eight children's. Margie received her education in Athens, Louisiana and graduated from Hill Crest High School. Margie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mayflower Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana. She was active in church and served faithfully until relocating to Kansas City, Kansas.
"A Time To Live"
In 1964 in Minden, Louisiana, Margie was introduced by her sister Bobbie to Oscar Webb, Who became the love of her life. They were later joined in Holy Matrimony in Kansas City, Kansas in 1965, where they began their life together. To this union two sons were born, Rickey and Wardell.
Margie had joined the Rising Star Baptist Church (Kansas City, KAnsas) under the Late PAstor J.R. Williamson. She was a devoted and active member for many ears and served faithfully as an usher until her health began to fail. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 30:5
She was employed as a private home caregiver, serving and caring for others with her God given gift of compassion and patience. Upon retirement she loved to spend time with her husband Oscar, children, grandchildren, and family. Margie loved decorating, especially her home. She enjoyed shopping and traveling, particularly the trips back to Minden! Her family was dearest to her heart and she loved them unconditionally. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grands and had fun spoiling them.
"A Time To Depart"
Margie was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. She was preceded in her home going by both parents, her brothers, Curtis Jones and G.W. Jones; Sisters Loretta Jones and Gloria Merritt, and son Rickey.
Left to cherish her life, love and memory are husband, Oscar Webb, Son Wardell of Kansas City, Kansas; Brother Otis (Sandy) Jones of KCMO; Sisters Bobbie Clark of Minden, LA, Jaunita Billard of Minden, LA; Maternal Daughter in Law Diane Miller of KCKS; Grandchildren Yvonne Webb, Rickey Webb, Ivan Webb, Nicholas Webb; Great-grand daughter Cheyenne A. Webb; Maternal grandchildren Christopher Miller and Crystal Miller; and four maternal great- grandchildren.
The moments and times Margie spent with her family and friends have becomes so very precious to us all now! Thank you Lord for sharing her with us!
A visitation for Margie will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Rising Star Baptist Church, 1034 Walker Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas 66104, followed by a funeral services at 1:00 PM.
Margie will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112; Garden of Valor; Section: 38, Lot: D, Grave: #1.
